Simple facts on JPEG images

1.       JPEG – Joint Photographic Experts Group is the organization that developed the JPG format. The file format generally will be JPG or JPEG2000.

2.       JPEG image loses its quality whenever you open and edit the image. If you want to a JPEG image multiple times then save it in different format like TIFF/BMP/PNG. Every time when you edit a JPEG image, the image gets degraded to lower quality.

3.       JPEG image consumes more time to display than the same size of GIF image.

4.       JPEG image does not support transparency, unless if the image is intentionally designed with transparent background.
